The usual scene this time of year is Sterns and Gulls flying around fishing and chasing insects. Egretts travel the shoreline for food and the Great Blue Herons patiently wait for prey alongside their little cousins the Black-crowned Night Heron with a little scuffling now and then. This particular Black-crowned Night Heron was just not a welcome site today. He was constantly harassed by Gulls as he tried to fish on a rock or attacked by Sterns as he flew away. He took his final flight into the Sunset leaving me with this great picture.
